1. Definitions
Silica bricks for glass kilns refer to siliceous refractory products used in the high-temperature parts of the masonry glass pool kiln (not in contact with the molten glass). This kind of brick is made of quartzite as raw material, a small amount of mineralizing agent is added, and it is fired at high temperature, and its mineral composition is a complex phase structure of scale quartz, cristobalite quartz, a small amount of residual quartz and vitreous formed at high temperature.

1. Stable volume at high temperature: Silica brick for glass kiln is stable in volume at high temperature, and will not cause furnace changes due to temperature fluctuations. The load softening temperature of silica brick is high, the creep rate is small, and the furnace body can be kept without deformation at 1600°C, and the structure is stable.
2. No pollution to molten glass: the main component of silica brick is SiO2, if there are falling blocks or surface droplets during use, it will not affect the quality of molten glass.
3. Chemical resistance: The silica brick of the superstructure is eroded by the gas containing R2O in the glass batching, and a smooth metamorphic layer is formed on the surface, which makes the erosion rate lower and plays a protective role.
4. Small bulk density: The bulk density of silica bricks is small, which can reduce the weight of the furnace body.
