Corundum mullite bricks
Classification:
Product Introduction
Corundum mullite brick is a kind of high-alumina refractory product, which is mainly composed of corundum (Al2O3) and mullite (3Al2O3·2SiO2) main crystal phase. Bricks are divided into four grades: GMZ-75, GMZ-80, GMZ-85 and GMZ-88 according to the content of Al2O3.
1. Composition and performance:
The Al2O3 content of corundum mullite bricks is usually between 75% and 90%.
It has good high temperature strength, high temperature creep resistance, thermal shock resistance and erosion resistance.
Typical physical and chemical properties include: Al2O3>85%, Fe2O3 0.45%, apparent porosity 19%, compressive strength at room temperature greater than 55MPa, load softening temperature greater than 1700°C, heating line change (1600°C, 3h) -0.1%.
2. Production process:
Synthetic mullite is usually used to make corundum mullite bricks, and mullite granules are used as aggregates and α-Al2O3 powder as powders.
Products are fired at 1650-1750°C.
3. Uses:
It is mainly used in hot blast furnaces with high air temperature, and is also used in glass melting furnaces and as ceramic firing kiln furniture.
It is widely used in blast furnace hot blast furnace, glass melting furnace, dry quenching coke and heating furnace and other industrial furnaces.
4. Features:
It has the advantages of high load softening temperature, low creep rate at high temperature, and high thermal shock resistance.
Made from high-purity raw materials, the presence of low-melting oxide impurities will reduce its high-temperature performance.
5. Physical properties:
The bulk density is between 2.6-3.0 g/cm³.
The refractory is between 1650-1700°C.
The cold resistance is between 80-120MPa.
Corundum mullite bricks are very important in high-temperature industrial applications due to their excellent fire resistance and thermal shock resistance, especially where direct contact with flame is required.
